RAIPUR: A biker was killed while three others including two women severely injured after the young man riding the bike rammed into them while they were eating khichdi in a langar.
The road accident was so horrific that the two women were thrown up in the air and they fell on the side of the road after the bike rammed into them. The deceased, a member of bikers’ gang, also fell and died on the spot meanwhile one woman’s hand and another’s leg were broken.
Before people could decipher, the other bikers of the gang disappeared from there. On receiving the information, Bhilai Nagar Police reached the spot. The injured were taken to Supela Hospital, where the young man riding the bike was declared dead by the doctor. Police are investigating the case.
According to the police, the road accident took place in sector five at nine in the evening. In a temple adjoining sector six, devotees were eating khichdi in langar when a gang of bikers was coming from sector nine and heading towards the Powerhouse. Each biker was going at a speed above 100 kilometres per hour, it was then when a biker lost his control and rammed into people eating khichdi.
The collision was so strong that it blew away two women, breaking one’s arm and another’s leg, said the police. One man also fell on the side of the road. Adding to it, the police said the biker fell and got dragged along for a longer distance, suffered deep injuries, and later died. The eyewitness on the spot told that the bikers’ gang belongs to the Durg district. Every night, at a very high speed these bikers ride bikes and also perform dangerous stunts on the roads. Even after having this information the police do not take any action against them. Now after a loss of life, the police are investigating the matter. The police station in charge Rajesh Sahu said that on the basis of CCTV footage, he will catch all the bikers and take action against them.
