Chhattisgarh-based SECL achieves 100 million tonnes of coal dispatch for FY 23-24, fastest since its inception

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh-based Coal India subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has achieved 100 million tonnes of coal dispatch for FY 23-24. This is the fastest 100 MT coal dispatch achieved by the company since its inception. Last year the company had dispatched around 85 million tonnes of coal in the same period and thus in this financial year the company has registered a growth of 17.65%.

Of the total coal dispatch, more than 80% went to the power sector as the company dispatched around 81 million tonnes of coal to the power plants across the country. This is a significant development keeping in mind the upcoming festive season when the power demand is set to peak. And this feat of the company will help strengthen supply of of coal for power generation in power plants.
