Chhaava teaser: Vicky Kaushal impresses as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj; fans hail film as 2024's 'dark horse' at the box office

The much-anticipated teaser for 'Chhaava', starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, was unveiled on Monday, sparking excitement among fans.

In the historical film, Kaushal portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of the legendary Maratha warrior-king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Going by the Twitter reactions, the actor has captivated the audience and left them mighty impressed.

The 1.12-minute teaser showcases Vicky in action as he singlehandedly takes on hundreds of soldiers as the fierce and brave Maratha warrior. The National Award-winning actor brings a powerful presence to the screen, riding into battle on horseback, wielding swords and even an anchor to take on an entire army. The teaser’s dramatic action sequences and Vicky’s fierce performance have already generated considerable buzz with fans declaring it as a sure-shot blockbuster. Others have also predicted that the film will be the 'dark horse' of 2024 with guaranteed success at the box office.

Take a look at some of the fan reactions below:

'Chhaava' also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Chhatrapati Maharani Yesubai, the wife of Sambhaji Maharaj, and Akshaye Khanna as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, promises to be an epic retelling of Sambhaji Maharaj’s story, with a stellar cast bringing the historical drama to life.

The film is set to hit theatres on December 6, 2024, and is expected to be one of the year's biggest releases. However, it will face stiff competition at the box office, clashing with the highly anticipated Allu Arjun-starrer 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. This marks Vicky’s second major box office clash, following 'Sam Bahadur' which competed with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal'.
