The NBA announced its winners for the October/November Rookie of the Month award and Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren received the Western Conference’s version
This shouldn’t be a surprise as Holmgren has quickly played his way into being the early favorite for the Rookie of the Year award. The 21-year-old has been a staple in OKC’s early success with a 13-6 record.
In 19 games, Holmgren is averaging 17.6 points on 53.1% shooting, eight rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 2.6 assists. He’s shooting 39.5% from 3 on 4.3 attempts.
The seven-footer was drafted No. 2 in the 2022 NBA draft. He was forced to miss the entire 2022-23 season recovering from a Lisfranc injury he suffered in the 2022 offseason.
