Cheryl says death of Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding 'changed her perspective' on life

Cheryl has spoken about the death of bandmate Sarah Harding and how it "changed her perspective" on life.

The Geordie singer was in Girls Aloud alongside Sarah, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh. Sarah died from breast cancer in 2021, at the age of 39.

Now Cheryl has opened up on how Sarah's death has made the bandmates "closer". She told the MailOnline : “A lot of conversations we had before she left really sparked a different perspective for me, and I'll carry that."

She further added: "She wasn't ready to leave and I think, ‘well I'm still here’ I've got the gift of life to still live, and I'll do it with her in mind. It does shift a lot of things in your own heart."

Cheryl said the bandmates "appreciate" and "love each other" so much more now. "We always have loved each other, obviously. But it's just a different, there's a different depth to it all now," she told the publication.

The star was speaking out as she made her West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story. Last year, the Girls Aloud band members reunited in honour of their friend at a charity gala for the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.
