CHENNAI: The wife of a retired IAS officer residing at the TAISHA complex in Nerkundram allegedly let loose her dog on a manager when he went to remove CCTV cameras installed outside their apartment following some complaints.
The manager filed a complaint with the Virugambakkam police who issued a community service register (CSR).
The gated community in Chinmaya Nagar houses serving and retired all india service (AIS) officers. According to police sources, the retired official and his wife had installed CCTV cameras outside their residence, which covers public areas.
Other residents raised this issue with the complex’s welfare association and insisted that the cameras facing the public path be removed.
Manager S Srinivasan, 44, had sent reminders to the couple asking them to remove the CCTV cameras. When the couple did not pay heed, Srinivasan and his team went to remove the cameras.
As they were working on it, the retired official’s wife allegedly let loose her pet dog on Srinivasan who fled the place.
TAISHA residents’ welfare association president and former DGP N P Singh informed police that the association would take internal action.
Neither the retired officer nor his wife was available for comments.
