CHENNAI: Amid the dust, noise, and heavy traffic moving on the barricaded narrow roads, phase-2 of the metro rail project has started to take shape in the city’s western suburbs as pillars to support an elevated corridor have been constructed on a 3-km stretch between Porur and Poonamallee.
Work on the casting of girders is also progressing. CMRL has set June 2025 as the deadline for Powerhouse in Kodambakkam to Poonamallee stretch via Vadapalani and Porur and December 2025 for the rest of the corridor and phase-2 project.
