Chennai: ‘Lockdown’ found asleep inside bus

CHENNAI: Lockdown, an 18-month-old child who went missing from Ambattur on Sunday, was found at CMBT bus terminus on Tuesday night, sleeping inside a bus.

Police said that the child was inside a TNSTC bus which came from Salem. The bus conductor who noticed the child alerted police.

Thee Ambattur police who were informed about the child, went to the spot and rescued the child.

Police suspect that the child could have been lifted by miscreants and abandoned her at the terminus fearing police. Further investigation is on. Police are combing CCTV camera footage for clues about the child lifters.

Lockdown is the fourth child of Odisha couple Kishore and Puthini, who were engaged in the construction of a multi-storey building in Ambattur. They were staying in the temporary shelter provided. The child went missing on Monday afternoon, when his parents were asleep at the site.

The boy was named Lockdown since he was born when the entire country was under lockdown due to Covid.
