CHENNAI: The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) and the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) are fighting for relevance in the elections to the Greater Chennai Corporation.
The DMDK won a few councillor seats in Chennai in 2011 and the AMMK’s T T V Dhinakaran won an astounding victory in the R K Nagar bypoll defeating the AIADMK. But all that is in the past. Both the parties were crushed during the 2021 assembly elections and are struggling to even put up posters in the city.
