Chemical manufacturer Vuba has expanded its operations in the South West after agreeing a new letting deal in Somerset.
The Yorkshire-headquartered firm, which specialises in resin bound surfacing for driveways, has taken on the lease of two industrial units at the Showground Business Park in Bridgwater.
The company said the refurbished units, totalling 12,000 sq ft, would allow it to better serve its clients in the area.
Director James Purdy, commented: “We are delighted to have secured a position at the Showground Business Park. The quality of the refurbishment fits in line with our brand image and the location cements our presence within the South West, a major growth market for us.”
CBRE and Alder King act as joint agents for the landlord of the Showground Business Park, which is located off the A38 Taunton Road, with neighbouring occupiers including Westerly BMW / Mini, GAP Hire Solutions and Langdons.
Alex Quicke, surveyor in the industrial and logistics team based in CBRE’s Bristol office, said: “Bridgwater is becoming an increasingly popular destination for both logistics and manufacturing occupiers. It’s easy access to the M5 and Hinkley Point C, both of which add to the appeal of the location for national occupiers looking to expand in the South West.”
Referring to reports that the owner of Jaguar Land Rover is reportedly close to choosing Somerset as the base for a new multi-billion pound electric car battery plant, Mr Quicke added: “Somerset Council’s exciting plans for Bridgwater, in addition to the recently reported major manufacturing investment at Gravity Business Park are likely to boost the area’s appeal and demand for Bridgwater as an industrial location only further for both growing and established businesses.”
