Chelsea XI vs Liverpool: James BACK - Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League

Reece James starts for Chelsea against Liverpool.

The right-back returned to full training during the international break and has been thrown straight into the side by Enzo Maresca.

James is back for the suspended Marc Cucurella, with Malo Gusto switching to left-back.

Enzo Fernandez drops to the bench and Romeo Lavia comes into the team.

Tosin Adarabioyo comes in at centre-back for Wesley Fofana, who is also banned. Levi Colwill in the heart of the Blues backline.

Starting James is a big call from Maresca, who has sprung a surprise with his team selection.

The 24-year-old’s last appearance for Chelsea was in their 2-1 defeat at Brighton on May 15 the final day of last season, when he was sent off.

Both Cucurella and Fofana are serving automatic one-match bans having each picked up their respective fifth yellow cards of the top-flight season already during the feisty 1-1 home draw with Nottingham Forest before the international break.

Lavia is alongside Moises Caicedo in midfield.
