Chelsea's upcoming Premier League clash with Norwich City will be moved to March 10 if either or both sides progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Blues take on Luton Town on Wednesday evening, while the Canaries face Liverpool on the same night hoping for a place in the last eight of the competition.
If either side makes it through, it means an FA Cup clash will be played the weekend of March 19, when the Carrow Road fixture is currently scheduled to be played.
That would mean Thomas Tuchel's side have a free midweek taken away from them to continue the relentless schedule their success has provided this season.
The Blues face Burnley on Saturday March 5, would then make the trip to Norwich on the 10, before coming up against Newcastle on Sunday 13. After that comes the Champions League last-16, second leg game with Lille.
While Chelsea would play four games in a period they have grown accustomed to, Dean Smith's side would see a tough period, however, with the club citing their displeasure at the arrangements.
The Canaries could face four fixtures in just 11 days, with the game against Chelsea sandwiched between crucial relegation clashes against Brentford and Leeds United.
A Norwich club statement read: “Norwich City’s Premier League fixture at home to Chelsea in March will be rearranged should either side progress in the Emirates FA Cup this week.
"The fixture is currently due to take place on Saturday, March 19 at Carrow Road, kick off 3pm.
“However, should either side progress from their FA Cup fifth round tie this week the Premier League has made the decision to rearrange the fixture for Thursday, March 10, with a 7.30pm kick-off.
“Given the proximity of our game away at Leeds United on the following Sunday, Norwich City would like to express its disappointment and frustration at the late notice and timing of this potential fixture rearrangement.
“Norwich City would also like to apologise to both sets of supporters for any inconvenience caused by this potential late rearrangement.”
