We simulated FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool to see who wins the trophy

Chelsea will be looking for revenge on Saturday afternoon when they face Liverpool in the FA Cup final.

After losing to Liverpool on penalties in the Carabao Cup final earlier this year, Chelsea will be looking to beat the Reds on the second attempt, this time in the FA Cup final. Thomas Tuchel's side suffered a tough 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in the same fixture last season, with this year being the third-consecutive FA Cup final for the Blues.

Chelsea come into the final off the back of a comfortable 3-0 win against Leeds United, once again tightening their grip on a top-four spot. Mateo Kovacic limped off with an injury following a horror challenge from Dan James, but Tuchel is hoping he will be fit for the final on Saturday.

As well as Kovacic, Tuchel is hoping that N'Golo Kante can return to his side for the final. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell remain the only guaranteed absentees from the Chelsea squad.

So, what line-up will Tuchel select? And, what could the final score be? We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Chelsea vs Liverpool in the FA Cup final and this is what happened...

Chelsea vs Liverpool score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 3-4-1-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kante, Kovacic, Alonso; Mount, Pulisic; Lukaku.

We predict that Liverpool could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Keita, Thiago; Salah, Mane, Diaz.

Liverpool took control of the first half, with both Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane being denied by Edouard Mendy. Despite the early chances for the Reds, Chelsea took the lead with their first chance of the game through Mason Mount.

Mount intercepted a loose pass from Jordan Henderson in midfield and started a Chelsea break down the right. Mount played a quick exchange of passes with Reece James who thread a pass into the box for Mount to chase, and off balance, the midfielder found the top right corner with a dipping effort.

Unfortunately for Tuchel, two defensive errors in quick succession saw Liverpool score twice and take the lead 20 minutes in. A sliced clearance from Cesar Azpilicueta saw the ball fall to Mane, and the forward volleyed into the bottom corner from close range.

The second came from poor marking, leaving Mohamed Salah unmarked in the box to tap past Mendy from Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross. Chelsea were handed a great chance to level the score 30 minutes in as they were awarded a penalty when Joel Matip brought Mount down inside the box.

Romelu Lukaku stepped up to take the resulting spot-kick, but his effort was well saved by Alisson. The Belgian aimed low and to his left, but the keeper leaped across goal to push the effort wide.

Chelsea continued to press after the missed penalty, and Christian Pulisic managed to find the equaliser for Chelsea just five minutes before the break. After picking up the ball on the left, the winger jinxed past Alexander-Arnold and charged towards goal.

Christian Pulisic made it 2-2 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Pulisic cut across Matip and took aim from just outside the box. His effort was aimed for the far right corner, but his shot took a wicked deflection off Virgil van Dijk as it flew past Alisson and into the centre of the goal.

The second half started with Liverpool in control - both Salah and Alexander-Arnold causing trouble down the Chelsea left-hand side. Jurgen Klopp's side were finding plenty of joy down this side of the pitch, and they managed to get their third of the game attacking down the right.

Mohamed Salah made it 3-2 to Liverpool (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Alexander-Arnold played a long ball down the right for Salah to chase, and the Egyptian skimmed past Marcos Alonso as he approached the goal. Antonio Rudiger couldn't catch up, and Salah curled his effort past Mendy from a narrow angle to make it 3-2.

The Egyptian then had a chance to make it 4-2 when he was brought down in the box for a penalty by Rudiger, but his effort was poor, flying over the bar. Chelsea were unable to find an equaliser, and Liverpool won the FA Cup.
