Chelsea get their latest Carabao Cup campaign up and running against League Two side Barrow at Stamford Bridge this evening.
The Blues reached the final of this competition last season under former manager Mauricio Pochettino and were perhaps unfortunate to have lost to a youthful Liverpool team at Wembley, albeit it was a remarkable feat for Jurgen Klopp to win it with such a young team in his final campaign at the helm.
Enzo Maresca’s side will naturally be strong favourites for their third-round clash and failure to progress would be a major shock, even if Barrow have been in strong form and currently sit top of League Two after winning five and losing only one of their seven matches so far this term under former Tottenham midfielder Stephen Clemence.
They beat fourth-tier rivals Port Vale in round one of this competition before shocking Championship side Derby on penalties to tee up a plum trip to Chelsea, who are making great early progress under Maresca and have not lost in the Premier League since the opening day of the season.

They currently sit fifth, only three points off top spot as things stand after easily brushing aside London rivals West Ham at the weekend.

Chelsea vs Barrow prediction
Anything but a convincing Blues win here would be a huge disappointment for in-form Chelsea, who look way ahead of progress in terms of their early development under Maresca.
Barrow will be eager to give a good account of themselves on such a big stage and have been in fine fettle themselves so far this season, but even a much-changed home side will surely have too much for the early League Two leaders.
Chelsea to win, 3-0.
