Chelsea transfer news: Wesley Fofana hint, Man Utd hijack and Wilfried Zaha interest

Chelsea have a bundle of players available for sale after making significant additions to their squad.

But they may not be finished making signings either with the club still looking for reinforcements. Timo Werner, Marcos Alonso and Callum Hudson-Odoi could all leave the club this week, and Chelsea have the spending power to continue adding.

Here, Mirror sport looks at the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Tuchel drops Fofana hint

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has insisted his side must make room for a "new generation" of defenders amid links with a move for Leicester City's Wesley Fofana.

The Foxes have already rejected two bids for Fofana, who certainly comes into that category at just 21 years of age.

And despite Leicester demanding over £80m for him, Tuchel has admitted he is searching for a player who fits Fofana's profile.

Chelsea given hope of hijacking Man Utd transfer

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong has seemingly been on the verge of joining Manchester United all summer.

But that transfer has not happened, opening the door for Chelsea to show some late interest. Now, Barca boss Xavi has hinted that De Jong may still be on his way this month, giving Chelsea renewed hope.

Zaha wants Chelsea move

Wilfried Zaha has been trying to leave Crystal Palace for years now, and according to Talksport he fancies joining Chelsea.

Zaha has not been on Chelsea's agenda so far this summer and the Stamford Bridge club already have plenty of forwards. But Talksport reckons the Blues are being encouraged to make a move for the Ivory Coast international.
