Enzo Fernandez to receive £1.7m Benfica compensation
After hearing of Chelsea's interest, Enzo Fernandez was set on a January switch to Stamford Bridge. But with Benfica standing firm on their stance that he would only depart if the release clause was paid, the Blues look to have moved on.
Because of how things played out, Fernandez will now receive €2million (£1.76million) from Benfica as compensation for his aborted transfer to Chelsea, according to reports.

Anthony Gordon issues firm Everton transfer stance amid Chelsea interest
Anthony Gordon has told Everton that he will not return to his boyhood club as he looks to push for a move away from Goodison Park. Chelsea had attempted to sign the 21-year-old last summer and could reignite their interest before Deadline Day, with Newcastle also pushing to sign the Toffees star.
The Toffees want a fee in the region of £55million for their star talent who has missed the last three days of training as he attempts to leave the club, according to The Daily Mail. The 21-year-old has 18 months left on his current deal but has not started a game for Everton since the mid-season World Cup break.
Lyon release Malo Gusto transfer statement and set asking price
Chelsea have suffered a blow in their January pursuit of Lyon star Malo Gusto after a statement from club president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed that the 19-year-old will not be leaving this month. The French outlet are looking for a fee in the region of £35million for the young defender to leave this month.
In a statement on Twitter, Aulas wrote: "Since I am actively participating with Vincent Bruno Laurent in this great winter movement, I have the pleasure of confirming the team on KTE but also of specifying that Malo, a great hope for OL, will continue to play with OL in less until 06/30/23."
