Chelsea transfer news: Sixth January deal confirmed with Noni Madueke as Bayern plot Havertz bid

Your morning Chelsea transfer round-up from football.london on Saturday, January 21.

Madueke signs

Noni Madueke has completed a move to Chelsea.

The 20-year-old Joined on a long-term deal over seven-and-a-half years worth around £35million as Graham Potter added a sixth winter signing to his squad this month. Having already signed Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk, the Blues are still on the hunt.

Madueke has become one of the most exciting dribblers in Holland whilst playing for PSV Eindhoven and will add a new dimension to the club's frontline.

Gusto interest

Chelsea are keen on signing Lyon right-back Malo Gusto this window as they look to bring in extra defensive reinforcement for Reece James. The full-back has been injured for long spells this season already and Gusto is a younger option to 23-year-old Pedro Porro at Sporting Lisbon.

Gusto, 19, is valued at around £40million by Lyon according to French publication L'Equipe but the Ligue 1 side unsurprisingly wish to keep their promising young star.

Lyon are struggling this season but face a battle to keep hold of Gusto with Manchester City and Tottenham also said to be interested in his signature. Chelsea could test the waters earlier though, making a move this month instead.

January priority

Chelsea may not be able to bring in their dream midfield signing this month despite attempts to buy Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

Since talks have shut down over the Argentine the Blues have instead turned their attention to new attackers but the issue in the centre of the park still exists and Graham Potter is in need of finding a new player to help out.

A lack of permanent options is set to push them back though and a loan may have to be accepted with the can being kicked down the road until the summer. football.london looked at three options they could turn to.

Kai Havertz bid

Bayern Munich are weighing up a bid for Kai Havertz according to reports. The German forward scored the winner against Crystal Palace last week but has struggled once more to find consistency this season.

Having excelled in Bundesliga as a teenager Havertz is still a coveted player in Germany and may well be on his way back there in the summer with giants Bayern monitoring his situation.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg writes that a deal between £35million and £52million could be possible. Both prices would be a loss on the money Chelsea paid for his services in 2020.
