Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea’s recruitment staff have a number of plates spinning during the final few days of the transfer window.
Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have spent big this summer but continue to chase more signings all over the park as Tuchel bids to improve on what has been a fairly underwhelming start to the season.
While business is expected to pick up across Europe during the final week or so of transfer trading, it’s difficult to think of a busier club than Chelsea as things stand.
Here’s the latest Chelsea transfer news.
AC Milan set huge Rafael Leao price
Back in July, Standard Sport brought you the news that Chelsea were considering a move for AC Milan star Rafael Leao.
The Portugal international played a key role in restoring Milan to the top of the Italian game, attracting interest from Stamford Bridge.
Still, the Premier League giants would reportedly have to pay a pretty penny to land him.
Gazzetta dello Sport suggest the 24-year-old could command as much as £126m.
Frenkie De Jong
Ah, Frenkie De Jong.
The Dutchman has been linked with a move away from Barcelona all summer yet continues at the Camp Nou amid a backdrop of financial uncertainty.
Still, perhaps Chelsea could offer a late lifeline.
Journalist Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Chelsea have really been looking at their midfield and are still contemplating a big transfer in that area. Declan Rice and Frenkie de Jong are a couple of the players they have looked at and now they are studying which players might be on the table as we head into the last week of the window.”
Harry Maguire
With Wesley Fofana proving difficult to sign, Manchester United and England defender Harry Maguire has been touted as another target.
Seemingly stuck in a rut at Old Trafford, the 29-year-old was left out of United’s win over Liverpool, raising further question marks over his future.
Still, Fabrizio Romano claims Maguire is keen to stay at the club and is not considering an exit.
