Chelsea have been flying high this season. Under Enzo Maresca, the Blues have found their footing, amassing an admirable 34 points from 16 Premier League matches and climbing to second place in the rankings. Their explosive attack has been integral to their meteoric rise this season, with the Pensioners scoring a league-best 37 times in the English top flight.
Cole Palmer has undoubtedly been the star of the show, chipping in with 11 goals and six assists in 16 outings. However, he has not been the only one wreaking havoc. Nicolas Jackson — a key cog in Maresca’s system — has also been excellent in front of goal, hitting the back of the net nine times in 15 games. In fact, the underrated frontman’s conversion rate has been better than Didier Drogba’s (20 goals) after 50 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

#5 Eidur Gudjhonsen: 21 Goals
In July 2000, Chelsea signed Iceland international Eidur Gudjhonsen from Bolton Wanderers. He enjoyed a decent start to life at Stamford Bridge, scoring 21 goals in his first 50 Premier League games. Before leaving for Barcelona in 2006, Gudjhonsen played in 186 Premier League matches, amassing 54 goals and 30 assists. His exploits helped the London side to two Premier League titles in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
Across competitions, Gudjhonsen represented Chelsea in 263 matches, scoring 78 goals and claiming 41 assists. In addition to the Premier League titles, he won one EFL Cup and two FA Community Shields.
#4 Tammy Abraham: 21 Goals
Cobham graduate Tammy Abraham is the fourth name on the list, having found the back of the net 21 times in his first 50 Premier League matches for Chelsea. Before his permanent departure to AS Roma in August 2021, Abraham played 58 games in the most elite division of English soccer, scoring 21 goals and providing four assists.
Across competitions, Abraham took part in 82 matches, finding the back of the net 30 times and claiming nine assists. He won the 2020-21 Champions League as well as the 2021-22 UEFA Supercup with this boyhood club.
#3 Nicolas Jackson: 23 Goals
The latest name to crack the list, Nicolas Jackson has scored 23 goals in 50 Premier League outings for Chelsea. He has also provided eight assists since making his debut for the club in the 2023-24 season. Jackson has not had the chance to fight for the championship yet, but if the Blues keep up the good work, he could get a taste towards the business end of the season.
Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal, has represented the Stamford Bridge side in 60 games across competitions, scoring 26 times and providing nine assists. His contract with the club runs until June 30, 2033.
#2 Diego Costa: 31 Goals
A ruthless goalmachine, Diego Costa, scored a smashing 31 times for Chelsea in his first 50 matches in the Premier League. The former Atletico Madrid man, who spent three and a half seasons at Stamford Bridge, played 89 league games, scoring 52 times and providing 16 assists. His performances helped the Blues to two titles in 2014-15 and 2016-17.
Costa, who currently plays for Brazilian side Gremio, left for Atletico Madrid in January 2018. Prior to his departure, he represented the London club in 120 games in all competitions, scoring 59 goals and providing 21 assists. In addition to helping the club to two EPL titles, he assisted them to one EFL Cup (2015).
#1 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink: 34 Goals
At the top of the rankings sits Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, having scored an impressive 34 goals after playing 50 Premier League games for Chelsea. Between 2000 and 2004, Hasselbaink played 136 matches for the Blues in the English top flight, scoring 69 goals and providing 29 assists, winning the Golden Boot in 2001. Unfortunately, he never got to lift the title with the West London club.
Before departing for Middlesbrough on a free, Hasselbaink represented Chelsea in 177 matches in all competitions. He scored 87 goals and provided 36 assists, winning the FA Community Shield in the 2000-01 season.
