Chelsea are continuing talks with Everton over a move for young forward Anthony Gordon, football.london understands. The Blues have just one week to get a deal over the line before the transfer window slams shut, with the 21-year-old believed to be desperate for an exit from Goodison Park.
It comes after the west London outfit were prepared to offer £60million to land the England youth international, who has impressed since making his breakthrough. Former Chelsea manager and midfielder Frank Lampard is the current Everton manager, who has had plenty to say about the Gordon saga.
"It is a football decision and a financial decision and it has to be right for everyone," he said. The Toffees head coach told the media after their League cup victory in midweek. "Anthony is our player. He’s our player, everyone knows of Chelsea’s interest, we have a good relationship, ideally [find a quick resolution to the situation] or we carry on and he’s our player," he added.
