Chelsea are the bookmakers' favourites to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in January after the Portuguese striker left Manchester United for the second time.

The 37-year-old dug out his club in an explosive interview with Piers Morgan that effectively ended any chance of him ever playing for the Red Devils again.

In a statement on Tuesday night, Manchester United said: "Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
