Chelsea summer selling spree totals £200m with Christian Pulisic the latest set to leave

The huge turnover of players at Chelsea continues at pace this summer with Christian Pulisic the next man set to leave Stamford Bridge.

The United States international arrived with high hopes after a £58million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, but he has endured a frustrating time with the Blues, failing to consistently nail down a starting spot.

Last season was the final straw for the 24-year-old winger, who made just eight Premier League starts and scored a single goal in a dismal campaign for the player and the club.

A truly miserable season that ended with the Blues finishing 12th in the Premier League has prompted a clearout from owner Todd Boehly to give new manager Mauricio Pochettino the best chance of success in his first season in West London.

Pulisic is set to join a long list of players departing Stamford Bridge this summer, with the 60-cap USA international agreeing personal terms with Serie A giants AC Milan.

A transfer fee is yet to be agreed between the clubs, with Chelsea holding out for a fee in excess of £20m, but the Blues have shown they mean business in the market this summer by ruthlessly clearing out the deadwood of last season.

And they have also already struck a deal with Milan for the sale of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, so it is surely only a matter of time before the finer details of Pulisic's departure are ironed out.

Chelsea have once again been proactive in adding to their squad this summer. After splashing huge sums on the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk in January, Boehly has forked out again to sign Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson, who has followed former RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku in joining the Blues this summer.

With the pair costing around £90m combined in the aftermath of spending hundreds of millions across the previous two transfer windows, Chelsea have had to balance the books so they can pursue Brighton's Moises Caicedo, raising £199m so far and that number is sure to rise.

  • Kai Havertz to Arsenal - £65m
  • Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City - £30m
  • Kalidou Koulibaly to Al-Hilal - £18m
  • Edouard Mendy to Al-Ahli - £16m
  • Ruben Loftus-Cheek to AC Milan - £15m
  • Mason Mount to Manchester United - £55m (subject to medical)

In addition to the sales of Havertz, Kovacic, Koulibaly, Mendy and Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Mount and club captain Cesar Azpilicueta will soon leave the club.

Chelsea have agreed a £55m fee plus add-ons with Manchester United for Mount, who is due to have a medical on Monday, taking Chelsea's incoming to almost £200m already this summer.

Azpilicueta is set to join Atletico Madrid on a free transfer, while N'Golo Kante has already joined Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad. Tiemoue Bakayoko has been released.

However, Hakim Ziyech's £8m move to Al Nassr appears to be in serious doubt amid reports of an issue flagged in the Moroccan's medical. It is a cruel blow to the 30-year-old, who saw a January move to Paris Saint-Germain collapse on deadline day.

More departures are sure to follow, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ethan Ampadu, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku among those who could be playing elsewhere when the season gets underway.
