Chelsea set sights on Bournemouth’s Alex Scott ahead of anticipated midfield overhaul

Chelsea have accelerated interest in Bournemouth's Alex Scott, ahead of what may be an auction for the midfielder in the summer.

The 22-year-old has been one of the break-out stars of the season, even earning an England call-up in November. That has only escalated interest from the wealthiest clubs in the division, with Chelsea so far understood to have shown among the firmest interest.

Bournemouth would want well over £50m, given how Scott signed from Bristol City for around £25m in the summer of 2023. There is the potential for that fee to be much higher depending on how many clubs move.

Chelsea are keen on Scott, especially amid anticipated changes in their midfield in the summer.

There remains the possibility that Enzo Fernandez will be sold after a two-game dropping following recent media interviews, as well as a feeling that Liam Rosenior had to assert his authority over the dressing room. Real Madrid have an interest in the Argentine midfielder.

The pursuit of Scott is still viewed as separate to that, given the 22-year-old is set to be one of the most sought-after players this summer.
