Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has warned Todd Boehly that Chelsea will not be able to demand 'silly money' for Mason Mount in the summer.
Mount’s Chelsea contract expires next summer and, as it stands, the two parties are no closer to reaching an agreement over an extension. The midfielder’s representatives, it is claimed, want a contract that reflects his significance to the club.
Liverpool are known admirers of the player who, aged 24 and qualifying as homegrown, fits the profile required by both Fenway Sports Group and the recruitment team as they look to overhaul Jurgen Klopp's engine room in the summer.

Chelsea are under pressure from Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations after spending over half a billion pounds on player signings alone this season, so they don't appear to have much leverage over the England international's price tag.
And Murphy has warned the club's chief Boehly not to be expecting big money this summer.
"I think they [Liverpool] need two or three [new midfield players],” he said on talkSPORT. “Ox [Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain] will go, [James] Milner will go, [Naby] Keita will go.
“Mount would be good value because he's got a year left. You're not going to have to pay silly money for him."
