Chelsea sale: Roman Abramovich breaks silence on claims he wants to recoup £1.5bn from Blues

Roman Abramovich has never asked for any Chelsea loans to be repaid to him amid claims he could be about to hold up the sale of the Premier League outfit, according to a statement from his spokesman.

The Russian billionaire is selling up in west London after two decades following sanctions placed upon him by the UK Government due to alleged ties with Vladimir Putin.

Abramovich is not due to receive any funds from the sale of the Premier League side with Todd Boehly leading a consortium who are in pole position to purchase the club for over £3.5bn.
