Chelsea's Todd Boehly and Man Utd's Glazer Family are set to be two busy ownership structures from now till the September 1 deadline with potentially up to £850million in total spending between the two clubs.
The Blues have so far spent around £170m on new recruits this summer for the now and the future but that total is set to get up immediately with Cesare Casadei's £13m Inter Milan switch set to be confirmed soon. On top of this, the current World Champions are now 'very confident' in concluding a £22m transfer for Premier League proven striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is set to cut his Barcelona spell very short, pending personal terms talks.
His blunt answer recently given to the Spanish press indicates that something is happening and in the process, Thomas Tuchel will be sorting out his striker issue amid renewed Cristiano Ronaldo hope. But it isn't just a striker who Chelsea want before the September 1 deadline. Far from it. In fact, Boehly is wanting to conclude respective deals for all of Wesley Fofana (£85m), Frenkie de Jong (£70m) and Anthony Gordon (£50m).

If all these deals were to be confirmed, the Blues spend under the new owners would total £410m in their first summer in charge but that's not taking into account the outgoings which are set to be bolstered by departures like Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech.
This shouldn't be a surprise, amid FFP issues, The Telegraph have predicted the west Londoners and one other Premier League club to go on a 'gold rush' type spending spree.
“Chelsea and Man United will be the biggest spenders and that could help drive the rest of the market as both clubs will look to sell and loan players," a leading agent said.
For the Red Devils, they are undergoing a transition on the pitch and off it following a terrible start to the first two games. Amid the Sir Jim Ratcliffe takeover rumours from the Glazers, the American family are set to spend significant funds to keep fan unrest at bay.
Currently, the Old Trafford-based club are linked to all of Joao Felix (£113m), Casemiro (£60m), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (£51m), Antony (£67.5m) and Christian Pulisic (loan), Hakim Ziyech (loan). On top of the £65m spent on the three new recruits this summer, all together, if all these deals come off, both clubs are on course for a joint £850m total spend.
