Chelsea are preparing a fresh £70million bid for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana as Todd Boehly looks to secure a fifth summer signing.
football.london reported earlier this week that the Blues initial bid of £63million for Fofana had been rejected by the Foxes as they look to keep hold of their star players. football.london understands the French defender is putting pressure on Leicester – both internally and externally – with the defender very open to moving to Stamford Bridge.
After missing out on a deal for Jules Kounde, Chelsea quickly moved their focus on to pursuing a deal for the 21-year-old in an effort to reinforce their defence ahead of the 2022/23 season. The west London outfit have held a long-term interest in Fofana since his arrival at Leicester in 2020 and are now ready to submit an improved offer for the Frenchman.
