Chelsea player ratings vs Bournemouth as Havertz and Mason Mount impress, Reece James injured

Kepa Arrizabalaga – Had nothing to do, virtually. 7.

Reece James – Chelsea look a different team when he's in the side. Looked a threat as always, bit disaster struck and he came off injured in the second-half. 7.

Thiago Silva – Picked up a knock early on but continued. Very calm in possession and a rock defensively. 7.

Kalidou Koulibaly – Starting at right centre-back alongside Silva. Did well. Sloppy in possession a couple of times. 6.

Marc Cucurella – Pressed well when Chelsea were trying to get up the pitch. Didn't do too much wrong. Looked solid. 7.

Jorginho – Gave away possession a couple of times in the first-half. Improved in the second, but wasn't Chelsea's strongest performer on the evening. 6.

Denis Zakaria – A risky, but ultimately brilliant sliding tackle in the first-half. Did really well for Mount's goal, where he bursted into the box. Aggression and physicality; something Chelsea's midfield has missed. 7.

Mason Mount – Superb finish for the second goal. He definitely needed that. Looked good throughout the game. 8.

Raheem Sterling – Puts it on a plate for Kai Havertz to score. Excellent low cross and continued to look a threat down the right-hand side. Still needs to be more decisive in front of goal, however. 8.

Kai Havertz – Proper striker's movement and finish for the early goal. That's something we want to see more from Havertz. Also, lovely lay-off for Mount's goal. 9.

Christian Pulisic – Looked a threat on the left. Unlucky not to have a goal himself after Havertz's foul ensured his strike was disallowed. Did well, though. 7.

Substitutes

Cesar Azpilicueta – Came on early in the second period. Looked solid enough. 6.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – N/A.

Conor Gallagher – N/A.

Trevoh Chalobah – N/A.
