Kepa Arrizabalaga - Pulled off brilliant back-to-back-to-back saves in the 21st minute to ensure Chelsea's lead wasn't given up easily. Before the half was out he may have even pulled off two better ones. 9.
Trevoh Chalobah - Was strong in the tackle but had his work cut out with Ollie Watkins. Nevertheless, the Cobham product looks increasingly confident as part of the Chelsea first team. 6.
Thiago Silva - Was tested in the first 45 minutes and usually passed. Not the Brazilian's finest afternoon as Chelsea's backline struggled but still solid. 6.
Marc Cucurella - Almost allowed Aston Villa through a goal with a first half miskick and never truly got settled before being substituted at half time. 4.

Raheem Sterling - Did not enjoy the same sparkle as he did on the opposite flank against Salzburg earlier in the season as John McGinn looked to occupy the space between him and Cahlobah. Had to be much more disciplined but as the Blues were overwhelmed on both sides the of the pitch and found himself moved to a more advanced role before the half was out. Connected play pretty well when he eventually ended up as Chelsea's lead striker. 5.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek - Looked authoritative in possesion of the ball and bringing it out from deep positions. Another strong performance in an impressive season. 7.
Mateo Kovacic - Showed moments of magic as he so often does but couldn't get a significant strangle on the game for an extended period. 6.
Ben Chilwell - Picked up a deserverd yellow card as Chelsea were put under pressure in the first half. Looked much moore comfortable in the second. 6.
Mason Mount - The England international continued his brilliant form and added a composed finish to his season after Tyrone Mings skewed a header inside of his own box. Added an oustanding second from a free kick in the 65th minute. Was not involved for large swathes of the match but once again ensured he had an impact. 8.
Kai Havertz - The German forward showed moments of good movement and strength but was sacrificed at half-time as Chelsea opted for a new wing-back. 5.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - The former Arsenal man was left very isolated in the opening half and barely had a touch in the game before being replaced after 58 minutes. 4.
Substitutes
Kalidou Koulibaly - Brought an assured presence in defence and produced some good tackles and interceptions, though showed his tendency to pick up a yellow card too. 7.
Cesar Azpilicueta - Solid 45 minutes on the right for the Spaniard who looks as though he will have quite the task over the next month in replacing Reece James. 6.
Conor Gallagher - Hurried and harried the opposition as he so often does and felt like his presence was needed to help disrupt Villa's play. 6.
Jorginho - The Italian was barely able to contain himself on the sidelines when warming up as Chelsea struggled but brought a calm presence to the end of the match to change the tempo. 6.
Armando Broja - Not enough time to make an impact. N/A
