Kepa Arrizabalaga - The Spaniard retained his place even with Edouard Mendy's return to the squad and had little to do throughout the opening half. Chelsea's gloveman did not make his first save until on the verge of half-time, and he was fortunate to see Rade Krunic blaze over as he looked to pounce on Kepa's block. 6.
Wesley Fofana - Recovered from some early difficulty bringing the ball out to net Chelsea's opener with his first goal for the club. Sadly could not build upon it as he was forced off the pitch with an injury during the opening half. 6.
Thiago Silva - Dominant in the air and on the floor, the Brazilian continues to defy logic. 7.

Kalidou Koulibaly - The Senegal international produced a much-improved performance and looked composed in the backline. Produced some good early passes to start attacking moves. 7.
Reece James - Untouchable down the right side in the second period as AC Milan did not react to the young wing-back finding space. First provided the ball for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before smashing the ball into the net himself minutes later. 9.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek - He grew stronger as the game went on and was able to bully the opposition when he was on the ball. A good evening for the 26-year-old to really prove his credentials to Graham Potter. 8.
Mateo Kovacic - The Croatian had a mixed evening with a few errant passes and tackles but looked very good when carrying the ball forwards to distribute. A steady evening as he looked to dictate Chelsea's tempo with Jorginho on the bench. 6.
Ben Chilwell - A consistent presence down the left, though his final ball was not always perfect, he was crucial in Chelsea's shape and pressing. 6.
Mason Mount - The England international tested Ciprian Tatarsanu very early in the match and even produced a finish of class when he lobbed the Milan stopper before his goal was ruled out for offside in the build-up. More intent from Mount as he continues to look for his best form. 6.
Raheem Sterling - The former Man City man showed some impressive work rate in both directions in Chelsea's win. Quiet in front of goal but still showed his ability to cause problems in a way few others can. 6.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - An impressive 65-minute outing where some simple movement saw him time his run to perfection to tap in James' cross. Almost provided an exquisite assist for Mount in the opening half but was offside in the build-up. Is proving to bring a clinical edge Chelsea have lacked. 8.
Substitutes:
Trevoh Chalobah - Was not short of a test against Rafael Leao and produced an accomplished performance after heading on in the first half. He produced an acrobatic attempt at goal in the second half and ended the game reasonably untroubled. 7.
Conor Gallagher - Fresh from his goal at Selhurst Park, Gallagher brought bundles of energy to the evening.
Jorginho - The Italian claimed his captain's armband and put in a steady when he was introduced. 6.
Kai Havertz - Didn't make too much of an impact when he was introduced on the left behind Armando Broja. Did what was required. 6.
Armando Broja - Led the line well but had a limited impact after his introduction. Battled well with Fikayo Tomori when required. 6.
