Chelsea player ratings as Gallagher impresses, Mount delivers for Pulisic and Havertz vs Wolves

Kepa Arrizabalaga - Another reasonably quiet day for the Spaniard, who stood up well when required and was solid in his distribution.

Cesar Azpilicueta - Chelsea's captain was allowed acres of space down the right all afternoon by Wolves, and the veteran looked to take advantage of it. He was unfortunate not to see a teasing delivery tapped in during the first period. He was unfortunate to pick up a yellow card. 7.

Trevoh Chalobah - A strong outing for the defender on his second start of the season. Graham Potter will be reassured by the 23-year-old's display which showed plenty of confidence coming to win and carrying the ball. The Cobham product will face stiffer tests than the Wolves attack but a positive start. 7.

Kalidou Koulibaly - The Senegal international was strong in the tackle on Saturday as he continues to build his confidence after some unconvincing performances. 7.

Marc Cucurella - Once again showed his importance tactically as the Blue fluctuated between back four and back three. He had some difficulty against Adam Traore but persisted well. 6.

Jorginho - Was sorely tested along with Ruben Loftus-Cheek by Matheus Nunes and looks like a yellow card waiting to happen in transition. He did earn one for a foul on Matheus in the second period. Solid in possession and building play from midfield. 5.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - A solid if unspectacular outing from the midfielder who could have benefitted from better decision-making in some moments. He did strike up a decent relationship with Conor Gallagher on the right, however. 6.

Conor Gallagher - A very lively outing from the Chelsea midfielder, high on the right of the pitch. Combined well with Loftus-Cheek and showed relentless pressing of the opposition. Produced some good deliveries from the right and urgency to get into the box. 7..

Mason Mount - Delivered the ball in for Kai Havertz's goal and floated well behind the German as Chelsea looked to create chances. Pulled off a well-hidden reverse pass for Christian Pulisic to finish and double Chelsea's lead. Efficient performance from the midfielder, who continues to improve under Potter. 8.

Christian Pulisic - The American had a glut of chances in the opening half of the game but struggled to find the target until after the half-hour mark when he produced a shot from distance to test Jose Sa. After some lacklustre finishing, he showed very good composure to nip the ball over Sa in the second period. A step in the right direction. 7.

Kai Havertz - The forward's looping header gave Chelsea their lead just before half-time and showed some nice combinations with Mount throughout the afternoon. His performance just lacked some polish for him to have really shined, but he did what he needed to. 7.

Substitutes:

Mateo Kovacic - The Croatian looked to dictate play from deep as soon as he was introduced. Helped Chelsea control the game's finale. Provided the assist for Armando Broja. 7.

Reece James - Immediately drew more attention from Wolves when he entered the field. Limited impact overall, but was solid. 6.

Armando Broja - Continues to offer Chelsea a focal point like few others do and hassled and harried the Wolves defence. Great finish at the death to score his first Chelsea senior goal 8.

Carney Chukwuemeka - The summer signing earned his Chelsea debut with five minutes to go. Not enough time to make an impact. 5.

Hakim Ziyech - Not enough time to make an impact. 5.
