The wait goes on for confirmation of Chelsea's first major men's team signing of the Todd Boehly era as the weekend ushered in more reports of how close the Raheem Sterling deal was to completion as the first-team squad flew out to LA for the start of their pre-season tour.
Whilst the continued attempts to sign a new defender went on with Nathan Ake and Matthijs de Ligt updates, Barcelona hope to match Chelsea's £55m offer for Raphinha but an internal struggle could aid the Blues in the coming weeks.
football.london brings you the latest from Chelsea in the transfer window on Tuesday morning.

Matthijs de Ligt bid 'rejected'
After a solid day of talks between Bayern Munich's director and Juventus' hierarchy in Turin, no solution has come to pass, despite the 'optimistic' prediction that was made. With De Ligt's preference seemingly a move to the Bundesliga champions, Chelsea have been focussing on finalising the Nathan Ake transfer as De Ligt's camp tried to thrash out a deal in Germany.
Of course, if Julen Nagelsmann's side were not to meet the steep demands, this could allow the Blues back into the race but as it currently stands, the former Ajax prodigy is certainly closer to the Bavarians over the current World Champions. Undoubtedly, there is still a lot of work to do for this deal to reach the 'done' stage.
As per Sport BILD's Christian Falk, the first offer of around £51m has already been swept away as Juventus hold out for significantly more.
Whether Chelsea re-enter the race properly remains to be seen.
Dayot Upamecano not for sale
The arrival of de Ligt was rumoured to spark some transfer outgoings in Munich.
Dayot Upamecano has struggled to make his imprint on this new look defence that was certainly leaky in 2021/22.
As a result, there were rumours that the Frenchman could be shifted on this summer to compensate for the Dutchman but this doesn't seem to be the case, as Chelsea rumours were swatted away by Sky Germany.
Florian Plettenberg tweeted: 'Update Upamecano: He is NOT for sale in summer!'
Double Bayern Munich revenge for Chelsea
Since 2012, Bayern Munich have arguably had a secret jealous feeling against the Blues after that famous night on May 19.
Nagelsemann's side looks on track to steal de Ligt under the grasps of Boehly and Tuchel but Chelsea can respond with a double swoop of their own.
According to various reports, both Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski are still of high interest to the west Londoners. However, a certain loyalty to both Arsenal and Barcelona means that the west London outfit faces an uphill battle to try and convince the pair of this new project going on at Stamford Bridge for the upcoming 2022/23 campaign.
