Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has Victor Osimhen alternative to make Graham Potter dream a reality

A new striker to lead Chelsea's forward line next season is anticipated to be at the top of Todd Boehly's summer shopping list.

Graham Potter's side have scored the fewest amount of goals in the Premier League's top 11 with 29 goals, scoring more than two goals on just three occasions this season. The decision to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer has simply failed, meaning Kai Havertz has continued to spearhead the Blues attack.

The position is one that co-owners Boehly and Behdad Eghbali must re-evaluate ahead of the 2023/24 season. football.london understands RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Blues, though it seems a natural striker remains on their wishlist.

Chelsea face tough competition for Napoli's Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian has scored 25 goals in 29 appearances for Luciano Spalleti's side this season and has played a starring role in their first Scudetto title in 33 years.

His incredible record in front of goal means there is a long list of potential suitors interested in the striker. With that in mind, alternatives are expected to be lined-up. One player who is reportedly on Boehly's watchlist is Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani.

The French striker only moved to the Bundesliga in the summer after four years with Nantes and has bagged 16 goals in 35 appearances. He also played a part in Les Blues' run to the World Cup final, scoring in the semi-final win over Morocco.

According to 90min, the 24-year-old has 'flirted' with the idea of a move to a bigger club this summer with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich set to battle it out with Chelsea.

Manchester United and Newcastle have also been linked, but the report suggests PSG and Bayern Munich are the two primary locations.

Earlier this season, Kolo Muani reiterated his loyalty to Frankfurt, but did admit his dreams of playing for a big club. "We talk about it a lot already, but I try to be focused on my club," Kolo Muani told L'Equipe.

"We continue our performances and we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs."

"I thought I was going to need some time to adapt, maybe a year. But everything exploded. Either way, I’m ready for any challenge," he added.

"I ask the club to get me my statistics on my matches each time. I share this with my physical trainer to know what to improve.

"I do a lot of goals and assists, but it’s not at the level where I should be. I still miss quite a bit. This is only my third (full) season as a pro."
