Chelsea may have been offered a final chance to land former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo as a free transfer in the coming month. The 37-year-old became a free agent after his contract at Old Trafford was mutually terminated following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
"I felt betrayed,” Ronaldo said in his interview with TalkTV. "Yes I feel betrayed, and I felt some people don’t want me here, not just this year, but last year too.”
With the decision made over his future with United, his club career beyond that has been clouded and is yet to be decided by the veteran goal scorer. Instead, full focus has been on the World Cup and making a claim to the title of world champions with Portugal.

As usual, there has been a spotlight on Ronaldo's performances for his country, who will face off against Switzerland on Tuesday in search of a place in the quarter-finals. However, with talk still swirling over his future, reports claimed that a deal had been agreed with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr to join up in January.
That would be a huge blow to Chelsea, but it may not be the case of yet as Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that there is currently no agreement. The side are still pushing to land him on a contract until 2025, but things are still open surrounding his future.

That could give the Blues the final bit of hope they need to get a deal over the line after new owner Todd Boehly failed to pull it off in the summer.
