Chelsea are about to begin their new era under Graham Potter.
The Blues will welcome Red Bull Salzburg to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, as they bid to get their Champions League group stage campaign up and running at the second time of asking. A shock 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb last week turned out to be Thomas Tuchel 's final game in charge, as Todd Boehly made the controversial decision to sack him upon the team's return to west London.
Now Potter is tasked with picking up the pieces and turning the season around. Boehly has grand plans for the club but will do-doubt be aware that short-term success remains of paramount importance, especially as he continues to garner criticism for his decisions.
Here's a round-up of the latest news from Stamford Bridge.
Boehly outlines plan for all-star match
Todd Boehly has suggested that the Premier League should host an annual all-star match, much like the ones seen in American sports. The Chelsea owner reckons that the money raised from the event could even help fund the English football pyramid and hopes that English sport can follow its American counterpart.
"People are talking about why don't we have more money for the pyramid? MLB did their all star game this year," Boehly, speaking at the SALT conference in the United States, explained. "They made $200million from a Monday and a Tuesday, you could do a North vs South all-star game from the Premier League to fund the pyramid very easily."
Chelsea winning race for Campos
Chelsea are reportedly ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign up current Paris Saint-Germain advisor Luis Campos to be their new sporting director. Blues owner Todd Boehly is still looking for someone to fill the position at Stamford Bridge, just like United chief executive Richard Arnold.
Le Parisien claim that Chelsea are willing to pay Campos €8m (£7m) and provide him with an enormous war chest worth €300m (£260m) to build a squad suited to new Blues manager Graham Potter's style of football. The report also states that Campos' contract with PSG only prevents him from holding positions at more than three clubs.

Potter sets out demands
Graham Potter is preparing to get down to business as Chelsea manager. The 46-year-old will take charge of his first match at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, as the Blues welcome Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League group stage.
Laying out his blueprint during a pre-match press conference, Potter doubled down on what he wants from his team, saying: "We want to entertain also but I'm respectful of the Premier League, respectful of my opponents and there's a lot of teams that want to do the same and we want to create our own team, our own identity. I want it to be recognisable so supporters recognise what we want to do, can see what we want to do and we'll fight every day for it."
