Tuchel's transfer priority
Thomas Tuchel has been told he has a new transfer priority for the final days of the summer window. After the Blues were defeated at Leeds on Sunday, former assistant boss Jody Morris believes one area of weakness is holding them back.
Morris served as Frank Lampard's number two during the Blues legend's time in charge at Stamford Bridge. And he has now urged Tuchel to act in order to correct the main problem with his squad.
"I do think Chelsea need to go out and get someone because the manager was disappointed with how clinical they were last season in the final third. Also the amount of possession and dominance they had in games and they weren't putting teams to bed with the chances they were creating," he told Stadium Astro.
Pulisic's dad signals anger
Christian Pulisic's father has dropped several hints that the American is unhappy with life at Chelsea. The attacker has struggled to break into Thomas Tuchel's plans, being named as a substitute in all three of their games so far.
He featured for the final 26 minutes of the defeat at Elland Road on Sunday, though failed to make much of an impact. But Pulisic's dad has now hinted that the problem lies with Tuchel.
He 'liked' several tweets following Sunday's game which blasted Tuchel for his treatment of Pulisic. The American has been linked with a departure this summer, a move that could gather pace following his father's social media activity.
Last-ditch De Jong meeting
Barcelona are holding a last-ditch meeting with Frenkie de Jong in a bid to convince the Dutchman to leave the Nou Camp. De Jong has been heavily linked with a departure from Barca for much of the summer.
Chelsea have emerged as a potential destination in recent weeks, rivalling a bid from Manchester United. De Jong has been reluctant to leave for the Red Devils, with the Blues seen as a more likely move.
Barca have struggled to convince him to accept an exit though, with their financial issues still mounting. They have now moved to break the deadlock by holding a meeting with his agents.
