Real Madrid target £10m Chelsea swoop

Real Madrid would be interested in signing César Azpilicueta for the winter market, according to 'Fútbol Total', via Sport.

Los Blancos would be willing to offer an amount close to £10million to take the Spanish international in the January transfer window. The full-back gave up signing for Barcelona in the summer after becoming tired of waiting and opted to sign a contract extension with the Blues.

Rafael Leao's father drops major transfer hint

Rafael Leao's father, Antonio, has now opened up on his son's contract situation in an interview to the Portuguese newspaper Record, relayed by MilanNews.

Leao's father said: “We are working on it [contract renewal]. Until the deadline of 2024 we will take care of everything, without necessarily Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid.

"He loves being in Italy. He has a predilection for Italians, the one the Portuguese do not have for him. He won the award for best player of the last Serie A not because he was beautiful, but simply… because he is the best.”

Mason Mount 'rejects' seven-year Chelsea contract offer

One of the key stumbling blocks Todd Boehly has faced in negotiations with Mason Mount over a new deal has been the length of the contract, football.london understands.

According to The Athletic, both parties have met on a number of occasions since initial conversations got underway in July, but both sides walked out of this latest encounter thinking a significant step towards an agreement had been taken.

The report suggests that one of the offers made to Mount was for seven years but this was rejected by the 23-year-old, who is also hoping for a higher base salary that represents his importance to the club after Chelsea switched their stance to offer more incentive-based deals to their star players.
