Chelsea news: PSG make Neymar decision as Todd Boehly drives £55million transfer

Given the club had changed owners towards the back end of the previous season, the start of the summer was relatively quiet for Chelsea. But that looks set to change in dramatic fashion in the coming days.

After seeing a number of familiar faces leave the club in administrative roles, Petr Cech was the latest to depart on Monday. Meanwhile, the Blues are seemingly set to ramp up their efforts to improve their playing staff, with Manchester City pair Raheem Sterling and Nathan Ake linked along with Brazil winger Raphinha.

As a result, the next few weeks will be eventful for Chelsea fans before they begin their Premier League season at Goodison Park against Everton. But it's still not completely clear what the team will look like come Week 1.

Mirror Sport has all of your latest Chelsea headlines.

Would the signing of Sterling help the Blues close the gap on City and Liverpool? Let us know in the comments section below!

PSG make Neymar decision

According to reports in France, Paris Saint-Germain have advised Neymar that he is free to leave the club amid continued links with Chelsea.

Neymar became the most expensive player in history when he moved to the French capital in 2017 from Barcelona. While there have been numerous moments of brilliance from the Brazilian in their club colours, he has been unable to help the team deliver the Champions League.

Now reports would suggest that PSG are ready to part ways with Neymar, who earns a staggering £650,000-a-week.

Chelsea have been mentioned as a possible option and the 30-year-old is reportedly interested in a move to the London club.

Boehly driving Sterling deal

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is said to be the man driving the potential signing of Sterling from City, as he seeks a big-name acquisition to kick off his tenure in charge of the club.

Sterling appears poised to arrive at Stamford Bridge for a deal worth in the region of £55 million, having fallen out of the regular starting XI at City. However, he remains one of the most productive wingers in the Premier League and would potentially add a different dynamic to Chelsea's attacking play.

According to John Cross, the new owner has played a key role in this deal getting close to completion.

"This time Boehly is doing it himself and that enthusiasm and determination is another major selling point for players who can see for themselves just how much they are wanted," it's reported.

Chelsea face Colwill dilemma

Chelsea may be forced into selling their promising young defender Levi Colwill this summer, as manager Thomas Tuchel continues his defensive rebuild.

The Blues have lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, leaving the team with a lack of depth at centre-back. Sevilla's Jules Kounde and City's Ake have been mentioned as possible targets.

It means that Tuchel is unlikely to give many minutes to 19-year-old Colwill, who enhanced his reputation last season with a stellar loan spell at Huddersfield. The Chelsea academy star helped the team to the Championship playoff final, only to fall short against Nottingham Forest.

Four clubs are reported to hold an interest in him, including Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Southampton.
