Chelsea boss Graham Potter may have been hoping that the international break would spur star January signing Mykhaylo Mudryk into life.
Mudryk linked up with the Ukrainian national team for their Euro 2024 qualifier against England on Sunday. The winger has struggled since arriving at the Blues and failed to have an impact at Wembley as the Three Lions eased to a 2-0 win, leading to him coming in for fierce criticism.
That criticism comes as Chelsea posted losses of more than £120million and transfer target Declan Rice was urged to leave current club West Ham. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Chelsea news.
Arsenal fans delight in Mudryk struggles
When Chelsea swooped in to steal Mykhaylo Mudryk from under the noses of Arsenal, he was hailed as a superstar of the future. But the winger has struggled badly since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Those struggles continued at Wembley on Sunday as Ukraine were defeated by England, with Mudryk putting in a poor performance. He was substituted on the hour mark, having been largely anonymous throughout the game.
Gunners fans were quick to delight in his continued failure to live up to his huge price tag. One tweeted: “I have never been so glad we didn’t get a player”, while another added: “He’s bang average. Arsenal dodged a bullet.”

Chelsea send Abramovich warning
Chelsea chiefs have warned that the impact of the sanctions imposed on the club due to Roman Abramovich's ownership will be felt for several years. The Blues announced a net loss of £121.3m for the last financial year.
It came during a period when the club were unable to sell tickets or merchandise after Abramovich was sanctioned in early March. And Blues bosses have warned that the impact of those sanctions will not be easy to overcome.
A club statement read: “Some of these limitations are also expected to have an impact on the financials in the following years due to the long-term impact from restrictions on entering into new contractual arrangements.”

Rice urged to move
Chelsea transfer target Declan Rice has been urged to leave West Ham, with the Blues floated as a potential destination. Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy believes the time is right for the midfielder to make a step up.
"Declan Rice has to leave West Ham. Ideally he would have gone last summer because it’s been hard for him to maintain his best form in a team that doesn’t keep the ball or boss games as well as others," he told the Daily Mail.
"He’s 100 per cent ready to move to the next level and at 24 won’t want to wait any longer for Champions League football. The lure of Chelsea is strong, having grown up supporting the club and playing in their academy."
