Chelsea news: Josko Gvardiol confirms 'serious' offer as Eden Hazard reveals transfer plan

Your morning Chelsea digest on Wednesday, March 15.

Gvardiol confirms 'serious' offer

Josko Gvardiol has confirmed that he considered a 'serious offer' from a Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The RB Leipzig star was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier last year but a deal collapsed after he decided to pen a new five-year deal with the German outfit instead.

In an interview with The Times, the £89million-rated youngster revealed how he found out about Chelsea's interest, the offer put forward and his future plans. Gvardiol said: "My agent called me and saw that Chelsea is extremely interested. Of course you definitely think about a serious offer from a huge club like Chelsea.

"Leipzig said they didn’t want to sell me, in the end I really struggled with that decision but we didn’t make an agreement. It is what it is, I am here and fine with this because my idea had been to stay here, one season wasn’t enough. This is my second, even one more season would be great but we will see."

Osimhen price tag

Victor Osimhen appears to be a step closer towards leaving Napoli in the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old striker has been heavily linked with an exit from the Italian giants for some time now as he continues to impress in Serie A.

According to Sky Sports Germany, the Blues are joined by Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign the Nigeria international, with various talks already taken place. The report states that the Premier League champions have enquired about Osimhen, despite having already welcomed Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez to the Etihad Stadium in the summer.

Sky Sports add that Napoli could demand at least €100million (£88m) for the Nigerian's signature. Todd Boehly found no issue with paying a similar amount for Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez in January so, with Chelsea in desperate need of an orthodox striker, the west London outfit could be tempted.

Hazard reveals transfer plan

Eden Hazard has ruled out a departure from Real Madrid as he looks to force himself into Carlo Ancelotti's plans. The 32-year-old faces an increasingly uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu, having recently entered the final 18 months of his contract.

"I would like to stay," the former Blues winger told RTBF. "I have always said it. I hope to play to show that I can still do it. People have doubts, it's normal. I understand it really good. But for me, I'm still here next year.

"You never know, but a transfer is not in the plan. What can make me change my mind? I don't know. All I think about is playing. That's why I don't even think about leaving. Deep down, I think: 'I can contribute something'."
