Chelsea have made a shock enquiry for Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, according to the Daily Mail. The report says it was linked with United's apparent interest in Christian Pulisic, while Wesley Fofana remains Chelsea's top target.
United reportedly are looking to take Pulisic on loan from Chelsea, who has fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel.
It has been suggested that Maguire could be left out of United's starting XI when they face Liverpool on Monday night, a move which could tempt the United skipper to leave, with Ten Hag potentially preferring a partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Elsewhere, Scott McTominay could now be on the move from United, as talkSPORT have reported that four Premier League clubs are interested in taking the Scotland international after Casemiro’s arrival.
The Brazilian will almost certainly step right in the defensive midfield spots, potentially meaning significantly less game time for McTominay. United now have an array of options in the middle with McTominay seemingly fallen further down United's depth chart.
Everton, Leicester, West Ham and Newcastle are believed to be the teams interested in the 25-year-old.
