Chelsea make Armando Broja squad decision amid Everton transfer links

Armando Broja won’t be heading on Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America today amid continued speculation linking him with a move to Everton.

Chelsea will first fly to Los Angeles for a week-long training camp before travelling to Las Vegas, Charlotte, and Florida, where the club have friendlies scheduled with Club America, Charlotte and Arsenal, respectively.

However, Broja hasn’t been named in Chelsea’s travelling party, with the club stating the forward 'will look to join up with the squad next week'. The ECHO understands that Broja is set for showdown talks with Thomas Tuchel as he looks to thrash out his future at Chelsea amid Everton interest.

The 20-year-old, who has been with the Stamford Bridge outfit for over a decade, has spent the last two seasons out on loan, netting 11 goals in 34 games for Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in 2020/21 and nine in 38 matches for Southampton last term.

Everton sources close to the club say, at this moment in time, talk of a move for the forward is just speculative, but didn't shut down links to the Albania international.

Meanwhile, the ECHO understands that Everton have no interest in signing Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton this summer.

Walker-Peters featured 37 times for the Saints last season and even earned himself a call-up to Gareth Southgate's England squad. But despite recent speculation, the ECHO understands the player is not wanted by Frank Lampard ahead of the new season.
