Thomas Tuchel's transfer activity for Chelsea this summer has been impressive given the work that was needed on his squad following on from last season.
Working with Todd Boehly in an unnatural interim director of football role the pair have come together along with the very capable work of Behdad Eghbali to sign two world class players in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly in key areas of the pitch. The news that Jules Kounde is close to becoming Chelsea's third male signing of the window has only furthered demonstrated the quick understanding that has developed between Chelsea's key trio.
Along with the opening negotiations for players, the Blues have also so far been able to keep their prize young players and are building a squad that Tuchel plans to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League with.

Both Di Matteo and Tuchel were at a press event in Florida ahead of Chelsea's friendly against Arsenal and the pair were extremely complimentary of each other, with the former Blues midfielder saying, "Tuchel is the best man to assess what he needs and what the squad needs.
"The two signings so far have been absolutely brilliant for the club. I think they've done very well. Two great players, top quality players. They're already part of a very successful team but the talent and the skills they bring could unlock defences for the club and it's going be a very big asset.
"Also Koulibaly is a very technical centre half, physical, but he knows how to play out from the back and he's a big leader as well."
Tuchel then went on to tell the Italian that having been the man to "win the first one, you're a legend."
