Chelsea lead Endrick transfer race but face Real Madrid and PSG fight to land Brazilian wonderkid

Chelsea are among three clubs leading the race for Brazilian wonderkid Endrick.

The 16-year-old Palmeiras striker is facing unprecedented interest in his signature and has had several recent meetings with the west Londoners.

Real Madrid believe they are the frontrunners for his signature but several sources believe both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also involved in an open race.

The Blues are hoping that their financial might can tempt Brazil’s biggest talent away from the well-trodden pathway to Madrid and toward Stamford Bridge.

Endrick’s father Douglas is involved in the decision-making alongside agents working with Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior. Any future deal will be signed in early 2023 ahead of a move in 2024 after the youngster turns 18.

His family will prioritise offers that allow the youngster to grow and develop but, by pitting three of the world’s most powerful clubs against each other, they will also ensure a great contract in the process.

Endrick is already a household name in Brazil after scoring 165 goals in 169 games for Palmeiras’ youth teams. It saw him become the club’s youngest-ever player after he made his senior debut last month aged just 16 years, two months and 16 days.

He netted his first senior goals a fortnight ago to become the second youngest scorer in Brazilian first division history.
