Chelsea join £100m transfer battle with Man United and Liverpool amid clear Jude Bellingham plan

Chelsea are said to have joined Manchester United and Liverpool in the race to sign Jude Bellingham next summer, according to reports. The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from the Signal Iduna Park as he continues to impress at Borussia Dortmund.

Bellingham, who sees his contract with the German giants expire in 2025, featured 32 times in the Bundesliga last season, directly contributing to 11 goals. His impressive displays led Dortmund to a second-place finish behind only titans Bayern Munich.

The England international has carried over his excellent vein of form into the new campaign, further strengthening the interest of some of Europe's biggest sides. One of whom, according to The Sun, is Chelsea as Todd Boehly continues to build for a healthy future at Stamford Bridge.

The report states that the Blues face tough competition from Liverpool and United for the teenage sensation. However, Bellingham is believed to be valued at upwards of £100million after Dortmund signed him for just £20million two years ago.

But, a move could be difficult to engineer with the starlet committing his future to the German side. Speaking ahead of Dortmund's Champions League clash with Manchester City on Wednesday night, Bellingham said, "The club have done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful."

Then, when asked if returning to England is his long-term ambition, he added: "It's not something I am thinking about, to be honest. It's a massive game against Man City. To even be thinking about something like that would be crazy."

Chelsea's interest in the midfielder follows various problems in west London. Jorginho and N'Golo Kante each see their deals expire next summer, with Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek set to expire the following year.

Bellingham embodies the profile of player that Graham Potter typically enjoys in midfield; proficient throughout the thirds, good final product, a ball-carrier and physically dominant. Beating title rivals to his signature could hand Chelsea a huge boost.
