Chelsea have been handed a potential blueprint for their Champions League quarter-final after Real Madrid were beaten 3-2 by Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday evening.
Despite leading twice in the contest at the Bernebeu, late goals from Jose Morales and Samuel Chukwueze handed the Yellow Submarine all three points in the Spanish capital.
Frank Lampard's side travel to Madrid next week for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie and will be bidding to cause an upset against the reigning European champions.

In a game where Karim Benzema was withdrawn on the hour mark with the game seemingly heading in favour of Carlo Ancelotti's side, Villarreal showed grit and determination to complete the comeback, after Pau Torres put through his own net to hand Los Blancos an early lead.
Chukwueze then equalised just six minutes before the interval, before Vinicius Junior restored the hosts' advantage just three minutes into the second period.
Luka Modric and teenager Eduardo Camavinga were then introduced in a bid to see out the contest, but Quique Setien's side struck twice inside the final 20 minutes, snatching all three points in dramatic fashion.
In what will serve as something of a boost for the Blues, Chelsea must improve from their own dwindling domestic form as of late, suffering a 1-0 defeat against Wolves on Saturday afternoon, with Matheus Nunes' stunning strike proving to be the only difference between the two sides.
