Brighton's transfer actions have given Chelsea late hope of securing a deal for Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old has been subject to interest from the Blues this winter as Todd Boehly looks to strengthen Graham Potter's midfield options.
As well as pushing for the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica and looking at possible loans, Caicedo's future has provided a backdrop all month. Having only made his debut for the Seagulls 18-months ago after a transfer from Independiente in 2021 for less than £5million, Caicedo's value has skyrocketed.
He is now being valued at over £80million, with a bid of around £65 million from Chelsea having been rejected already this window. As we enter the final week before the transfer deadline it is time for even more action from Boehly and Co, who have already signed six players, including four attackers.

Midfield is the crucial area to invest in though with Jorginho and N'Golo Kante both over 30 and both out of contract in the summer whilst Mateo Kovacic's form and fitness have become a worry. Denis Zakaria is only on loan and is also out injured currently.
First choice targets have been hard to make progress with this month though and Caicedo is just one name on a lengthy list. Despite the midfielder saying he is focused on his future on the south coast, with football.london learning that the Blues are more likely to plan ahead for the summer now rather than pushing for a deal this month.
However, Roberto De Zerbi's men are looking to strengthen in the centre of the pitch and could be giving Chelsea late hope in regards to a move for the Ecuadorian star. According to the Independent, RB Leipzig have rejected a bid from Brighton for their own midfielder Amadou Haidara.
He can leave in the summer and will also attract more interest later this year, plus Leipzig will struggle to find an adequate replacement for their man this window.
Although Brighton appear unlikely to make a breakthrough, their interest in the Mali international does spike the attention of Chelsea, who have been given some hope of striking a deal for Caicedo.
