Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Chelsea transfer target Wesley Fofana wants a move to Stamford Bridge this summer. It comes after the Blues had a third bid worth roughly £70million rejected for the Frenchman as they look to strengthen the backline.
Thomas Tuchel has already looked to replace the outgoing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger by signing Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella in recent weeks. The defensive third has been anything but secure in recent weeks though, with five goals conceded in their opening three games.
The last match was a 3-0 thrashing away at Leeds United, where a mixture of errors were made and caused by the home side's pressing. One of those also includes a red card for new recruit Koulibaly, who picked up a second yellow and now faces suspension against Leicester City at the weekend.

The Senegal international is set to be a huge blow, leaving the manager scratching his head over how his system may lineup, with potential tweaks needed. Despite the suspension, when asked if it would speed up the signing of a defender, Tuchel claimed he didn't know and would have to "wait" to see.
Fofana appears to be the go-to option for the Blues before the transfer deadline in one week, with the club making a bid in the region of £70million that was confirmed by Rodgers as being rejected. However, the manager also made a huge statement surrounding the mindset of the Chelsea target.
Speaking with TalkSPORT after victory over Stockport on penalties in the Carabao Cup, he said: "It's always better when it's done sooner rather than later. The player clearly wants to go and it's about the clubs finding an agreement, so I think once that happens it'll only be resolved then."
After being excluded from the squad in Saturday's loss to Southampton, the Frenchman was also omitted from the team in the cup. While admission that he wants to leave is enough of a boost in itself, the fact he didn't play in the League Cup means he won't be cup tied if he makes the switch in the next week.
