Former Olivier Giroud has already given his seal of approval to Christian Pulisic’s pending move to AC Milan.
The USA winger looks set to end his time at Stamford Bridge, four years after arriving from Borussia Dortmund. Pulisic struggled to make an impact last season during a difficult campaign for the club, managing just one goal and two assists in 30 games across all competitions, and is not expected to be part of Chelsea’s USA pre-season tour.
Milan are believed to have agreed a £18.8million ($24.1million) fee with Chelsea, staving off competition from Lyon, with personal terms also said to be finalised. Former Blues striker Giroud played alongside Pulisic for two years and was asked if the winger would be a good fit for the Rossoneri, back in May.
“Ooh, good question. People here would love it, so would the coach,” Guroud admitted to CBS Sports, via Football Italia. “He is definitely a big name in Europe. Yeah, he could help us.”
The Blues have already demonstrated a healthy relationship with the Italian giants this summer after selling Ruben Loftus-Cheek for around £18million. Giroud is also set to be reunited with Pulisic and gave a glowing verdict when asked about the 24-year-old, comparing him to Eden Hazard.

“He was a happy boy, always good vibes, smiling, easy to have a laugh with him,” Giroud said. “My understanding on the pitch with him was top, a bit like Eden (Hazard), though I played less with Christian. He is very skilful, he can dribble, play the one-two, knew how to use me on the pitch and vice-versa.
“We had some good times together. I hope he can get rid of the injuries, get more consistency and games, because he is a very, very talented player.”
