Chelsea could be getting Nicolas Jackson for under half his actual value if they complete a £30million deal for the young striker, according to Villarreal’s CEO.
Roig Negueroles has spoken out on the deal in the offing between the Blues and the Spanish club, which was exclusively revealed by Standard Sport last week.
Jackson, 22, is available for his £30m release clause after hitting nine goals in his last eight LaLiga games to round off a breakout season on the Mediterranean coast.
Villarreal chief Negueroles has suggested that the striker will soon be worth far more than the fee that Chelsea are set to pay.
“Jackson is a player with great potential, and he may be worth £70m in the future,” he told AS.

“Now this is the contract that he has and the clause that he has, and I don’t think that amounts like that should be underestimated.”
Jackson is reportedly due in London this week to complete a medical and sign a five-year contract at Chelsea, following a period of form that Negueroles has described as a bit of a surprise.
“He’s been very impressive, although being a forward who scores so many goals creates so much more of an impact,” he added.
“He was a player whose potential we saw but who we knew was lacking goals, like he had in the academy. What he has done these last 10 games has been spectacular, and in a way unexpected.”
